Terms of Service

The service

Zipawa provides an API and website that aggregate publicly available event information (such as National Weather Service alerts and FEMA disaster declarations) and map it to US ZIP codes, so that you can make decisions about your own marketing and communications. By creating an account or using the API you agree to these terms.

Informational use only — no warranty of accuracy

Zipawa is a decision-support tool, not a source of truth. Event data originates from third-party government sources, is processed automatically, and is refreshed periodically — it may be incomplete, delayed, miscategorized, or wrong, and coverage of non-weather events is limited. You are solely responsible for the decisions you make using the service, including which campaigns you send or suppress. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zipawa's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or business opportunities.

Your account & acceptable use

Keep your API key and password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. You may not: resell or redistribute the data as a standalone product; circumvent plan limits (including by creating multiple free accounts); probe, overload, or disrupt the service; or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

Plans & limits

Free-tier usage limits are described on the pricing page and enforced automatically. We may change plan features, limits, or pricing with notice posted to the site. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to the service

The service is under active development. Features, data sources, and API behavior may change; we'll use reasonable efforts to avoid breaking documented API behavior without notice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Zipawa is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
